VMB 800 machine enables

high-precision machining of complex-shaped aviation parts

The machine-building holding "STAN", part of the State Corporation "Rostec", has manufactured a fully domestic five-axis CNC machine VMB 800, designed for processing cast body parts used in aircraft and helicopter construction. This equipment efficiently processes complex-shaped aviation parts, for which high manufacturing precision is of fundamental importance. There are no analogues to the VMB 800 among Russian equipment.

The VMB machining center is equipped with a high-speed spindle motor and a numerical control system, both developed and produced in Russia. Additionally, the machine is fitted with an inertia-free hydraulic brake for the rotary axes, which is domestically manufactured. With its help, it is possible to high-quality process parts such as brackets for the release of interceptors (which reduce the lifting force on the aircraft wing), elements of the load-bearing frame of the tail unit, and others.

"The launch of mass production of the fully domestic VMB 800 machining center by the "STAN" holding is another confident step in the development of the Russian manufacturing industry and ensuring technological sovereignty of the aviation sector. This confirms the competitiveness of our machine-building industry. The technical and technological execution of the machine meets all strict standards in strategically important sectors," said Semyon Yakubov, Managing Director for Machine Building and Special Projects at Rostec.

The design features of the new VMB 800 machine minimize vibrations during operation. This ensures that parts are produced with excellent geometric quality. The machine has wide ranges of feed rates and spindle rotation frequencies, and its "box-in-box" design increases the rigidity and vibration resistance of the load-bearing system.
